Lantz Lamback - Olympic Dreams Mentor

A U.S. Paralympic swim team veteran, Lantz knows what it takes to be a world champion and a world class athlete. Lantz became involved with CSRA diving through his friendship with Coach Joey. When Coach Joey asked Lantz if he would be willing to help mentor and support some of our young local divers, Lantz jumped at the opportunity to help train the next generation of champions. While swimming and diving are not the same sport, the mental game and the sports psychology needed to train at these higher levels are the same. As one of the most decorated Paralympic swimmers in history, it is in the mental game where Lantz excels at. Lantz helps coach these young divers through the mental game, teaching them how to reach deep and push the extra mile when they think they have nothing left. Lantz adds that extra depth to the training that our divers undertake, and that is needed to build young Olympic dreams.

Some of his accomplishments include:

- 2012 Paralympic Games - Gold and Bronze

- 2008 Paralympic Games - four medals including one Gold medal – the most of any U.S. male swimmer. World record holder set in the preliminaries and finals of the 100-meter backstroke in the S7 division for his first gold medal.

Para Pan Pacific Swimming Championships in Edmonton, Alberta, he won six medals – two gold – at the. He captured the 400-meter freestyle with a time of 4:59.28 and took the 100 backstroke in 1:14.85.
